2024 Quiet in His Love

The Lord your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy. (Zephaniah 3:17)

Yesterday, I walked out to the backyard to escape the work in the house. Too many projects and not enough energy to do them all at once.

I sat down on the lounge chair hoping to gain a bit of respite before hitting the projects again.

As soon as I looked up, the trees were so still. Even the birds were unnoticeable. The wind was silent; the clouds ever-vibrant white.

It truly was a living masterpiece! I thought I was in a dream picture. I saw myself moving, but everything else was quiet.

We get rooted in our days with busyness and lots and lots of noise. Quiet doesn't rule our day. Instead, noise rules our hearts.

Have you been running lately with a heart full of distractions, projects, whiny children, and high-demanding pets?

Quiet in His love.

God is with you even in the chaos of your days. You don't have to wait for everything to be still and know. But take time to quiet in His love.

Slow down so God can speed you up. Let Him lead with love so you can explode with joy.

Stress and shame don't have to bury your hope.

Quiet in His love.

REFLECTION: What can you do to quiet in His love? How can you show up differently today?

Give yourself space to experience God's love today and in your every day. Don't rely on what you think you should be doing even to please Him.

Ask, seek, and knock.

Assumptions will stifle your day. So keep calm and quiet in His love.
